Bryce Canyon

Posted by Zeno Gerakin Published on May 10, 2018

We made a whirlwind tour of Bryce, passing through every car accessible viewpoint, the visitor center, and the peekaboo loop trail in just one day. Additionally on the way into the park we stopped at Red Canyon inside Dixie National Forest and at the end of the day we returned back out to the Duck Creek campground some 50 miles removed from the press of the National Park crowds. It was a nice way to do it and left me with an impression of the natural wonders of the environment within the park, rather than with any frustration with the people.

And oh were those natural wonders prevalent! Celine and I both agreed that for sheer interest Bryce was by far the best stop we’d made yet. The environment is just so alien and so varied. At every new turn or different angle the geological formations take on a new cast. We did a six mile loop with quite a bit of elevation change and it was hot, sweaty, and exhausting but stunning throughout. We left Bryce late in the evening feeling content and inspired.
