The Hoover Dam was a tourist filled mess that was excruciatingly hot and packed with bad food and worse trinkets. Despite all of this the feat of engineering itself and the Art Deco styling of the exterior were both worth experiencing. We weren’t both super interested in the extended engineering tour, so we didn’t spend the sixty dollars it would have cost. I sort of regret that, but sometimes it is just time to move on.
Our only tip to anyone else that reads this and makes the journey is that the parking on the Arizona side is free while Nevada will try to fleece you. The Arizona side is also the only option for taller vehicles.
Travel-Note: Remember that if you travel with a pelican case everyone will expect it to contain a gun. Especially security forces…
